Yes, the Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, received numerous awards for their pioneering work in aviation. One of the most notable awards they received was the Smithsonian Institution's Langley Medal in 1913 for their development of the first successful powered aircraft. James Parke Postles:was awarded the CMOH for his bravery during the Second Day of the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (July 2, 1863). His citation reads "Voluntarily delivered an order in the face of heavy fire of the enemy" His Medal was awarded to him on July 22, 1892.
First off, the Medal of Honor is not won. It is awarded, after 3-5 years of investigation's, for conspicuous gallantryand being willing to surrender one's life to save the rest of the battalion. Second, to this day, only 1 woman, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, has recived a Medal of Honor for her many act's of bravery at a MASH unit.

He lied to join the Marines at age 14. One day he went to the battle of Iwo Jima during February 1945. On the second day he was near a trench of Japanese soldiers. A minute later he saw two grenades land near his buddy. So he jumped on the grenades. When they exploded he flew into the air and landed on his back. His friend thaught he was dead so moved on. But he wasn't dead. when another U.S. soldier saw him, Jack Lucas said "American". And the soldier took him to the doc and he got sent home. When he got repaired. He received the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is the 1st best medal you can ever get in the military. He received it from Harry S. Truman. He died June 5 2008.
