Prior to that, Obama served in the Illinois State Senate, and had been a professor at University of Chicago Law School. Between graduating from Columbia Unviersity and attending Harvard Law School he worked in Chicago as a community organizer, among other things. He was also a successful published author. There is however, no proof he graduated from any college within the United States.

∙ 13y agoBarack Obama was born on August 4th, 1961, in Hawaii to Barack Obama, Sr. and Ann Dunham. He is a US Citizen by birth and thus eligible for election as President of the USA.
Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983 and moved to Chicago in 1985 to work for a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods. As a christian, Mr. Obama attends religious services at a local church.
In 1991, Obama graduated from Harvard Law School where he was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review.
He became an attorney/lawyer to gain more knowledge of the law.
Mr. Obama was elected and served eight years in the Illinois state Senate. He was elected and then sworn into office as a US Senator of Illinois on January 4, 2005. Senator Obama is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and the Veterans' Affairs Committee.
Senator Obama is especially proud of being a husband and father of two daughters, Malia, 9 and Sasha, 6. Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle, were married in 1992 and live on Chicago's South Side.
