Mia Love is the first black (Haitian-American) Republican woman to be elected to Congress, as well as one of the youngest to hold that office. She is also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a Mormon), converting from Catholicism after graduating from college. She lives in Utah and is the mother of 3 children.

Some interesting facts:

-She was born in Brooklyn and raised in Connecticut

-She met her husband while he was serving as a Mormon missionary in Connecticut. After she moved to Utah, they dated for only three months before marrying.

-She worked as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines

-She loves theater, but passed up the opportunity to appear on Broadway to get married
