Why did people join World War 1?

They joined ww1 because of pressure from the government and the government promised them good pay. They also joined because of; peer pressure, young men were encouraged by Propaganda and felt they should fight for their country and their family, when you think of it really if those men (RIP) never went out and fought then we may not have been here now so bee grateful for what they did.

ok, well, the men were pressured through posters and the women of that era thought that their 'man' going to war would be a challenge and adventure, also they thought that their 'man' going would show the strength and courage of their family. They would get recognised around town and would enjoy the fame. IF their 'man' came back.
