In 1793, the Upper Canada Abolition Act freed slaves in Upper Canada. By 1800, the rest of the Canadian colonies severely limited slavery.

In 1833, the British Imperial Act was passed which banned slavery in the entire British Empire (Canada included).

So yes, Canada did have slavery, but very limited. It was long abolished by 1860.
