Well, it is never a good idea to over hunt a species without taking into consideration the effect it will have on the ecosystem in that area. unless you are a biologist or a Natural Resources specialist i would suggest you contact one. you may also try to contact your state's DNR office. many species will have protective laws around them. the only reason i can see for over hunting to be helpful is when you are trying to protect something or eliminate a disease for example, last year my town experienced an outbreak in rabies in out coyote population. so my town decided, after a few full grown cows were attacked by lone coyotes. to start killing every coyote in site. this had a great impact on the population of rabbits, deer, raccoons opossum mice, and other small animals. this year there are so many in the area, that crops are being eaten out of the fields long before the harvest. this will hurt the amount of money the town brings in this winter. everything in nature has a balance and a cycle. while wee are part of it, we do not need to over enforce it. check with your local DNR office. they will tell you the limitations on hunting. if you are trying to get rid of a particular animal, then talk to a biologist about alternative methods. good luck.
