One cent, although I understand that the "melt value" of the metal it is composed of (95% copper and 5% tin and zinc) is closer to 1.5 cents (it is, by the way, illegal to melt down US Coins for their metal value).

In Proof condition, a 1980-S penny (minted in San Francisco) would be worth about $2.25.
