$3 retail if well-worn, up to about $16 if almost uncirculated. I have an 1862 5 cent silver colored coin that says The United States of America and the number 5 surrounded by stars on one side and In God We Trust, an ornate design and the date of 1862 on it. So there WAS a nickel in 1862, contrary to what has been said that the US mint didn't start making nickels until 1866?? So if it's not a nickel, what is it & what is it's worth??
A 1942 US Wheat cent is common, average value is 3 cents.
