∙ 10y agoI think the main one was mustard gas, a skin irritant which causes blindness. Phosgene was also used. It wasn't only used by the Germans.
There were many types of poison gas used in WW1 such as Chlorine, Diphosgene, Tearing Agent, or Blistering Agent. Blistering was one that smelled like mustard while being manufactured, which is why it is known as "mustard gas." It caused blisters that one could die from.

This act forced Britain to declare war on Germany because they signed the Mutual Assistance Treaty with Poland. By the end of 1940, Australia, Britain, New Zealand, and Canada had declared war on Germany. Germany formed the Axis powers with Italy, Japan, and the Soviet Union. World War II had begun.
