The Massachusetts Bay Colony was the first colony in what is today New England. At that point contained what is now the states of Massachusetts Maine, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire
The first expedition in 1584 dissapeared, and it was assumed that they had been kidnapped or killed by the Native Americans living in the area. But other expeditions survived and Virginia was made a colony in 1607.
Ponce de Leon landed in what is now Florida and Spain sent people to settle the area. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. With established colonies countries got the natural resources and the power that came with it.
The colonists had bees shipped to America in hives. The first arrived in the Jamestown colony and spread throughout the area.
The English first settled in Virginia. Jamestown, Virginia was the first successful settlement and St. George's, Bermuda was the second. They spread to other areas including what would become New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
