The French slave owners in Haiti had made a business decision that it was cheaper to treat slaves badly and then replace them with new slaves after they were worked to death, whereas American slave owners generally found it more profitable to keep their slaves in relatively good condition and thereby get more work out of them.
Type your answer here... free factory workers were treated worse than slaves.
This is a rather non-describing question. Seeing that throughout the history of man there have been slave holders and slaves in different nations under different sets of rule and sometimes there where revolts and sometimes not. The main reason however for slave revolts have been oppression of the holder. Slaves are humans seen as property gained often through acts of war. Slaves were not seen as human and often threated worse than animals held by the owner.* * I'm using past tense because the slave system where there were enough slaves to revolt at any given area is largely taken over by other names for oppression.
Knowing that slaves were treated worse than the animals on the plantations, the lazy, greedy, filthy, degenerate plantation owners wouldn't likely have paid more for a human being than a mule.
They actually thought that the slaves were of less value than themselves. They were treated as a commodity that provided cheap labor... Actually worse than cheap it was totally free. It's all about the money, Selfish Right?
Some were treated well, some very badly, but they were slaves, and that was the issue, not how they were treated.Inhuman treatment of others is immoral, even if one is nice about it.they were beat, tortured, whipped, raped, murdered, etc. the list is so long. Some might have been treated well but they were still property. No one deserves to be someone elses property. They were treated like animals or even worse. no one was treated properly and no one ever survived 1 year there. poor people were taken there and put into slavery but so many people died that only a few people lived. :-D
Sargon treated his slaves as worse as he could!
ya cuz sum worked in the slave owners houses and were treated better, but some worked in the fields and stuff so they were treated worse.
With the exception of working in mineral extraction Roman slaves probably had it better. A Roman slave could earn his freedom or advance himself which was not the case with plantation slaves in the deep south.
Slaves in Brazil were subjected to harsh treatment, including physical abuse, long hours of labor, and poor living conditions. Many faced violence, exploitation, and separation from their families. Slavery in Brazil was abolished in 1888.
they were treated like that because the white people had no respect for the black people, they were made to be slaves and never had the same rights as the white people did e.g they were not allowed in the same restaurant as them, cinemas and got paid less just because there colour of there skin.
It was brutal because Stalin didn't regard human life and treated his subjects worse than slaves.
I read somewhere that as time went on slavery became worse however, from a slaves first hand account I found out that some had better food and housing that poorer Europeans did.
worse
Chile's earthquake arrived at approximately 8.7! Haiti's earthquake struck at 7.6. Chile is more rich than Haiti so they have enough money to repair bulding and bridges and pay for the people who are in the hospital. As for Haiti, they are a very small, poor country and need America's help. So help Haiti now.
they were both treated the way nobody or anything should be treated. it doesnt matter because it was a huge mistake and embarassing and so many innocent people died because of the evil hatred-filled people who tortured them.
yes. worse than haiti
Yes it did vary but pretty much a slave has the same meaning. A slave was condidered to be the property of someone else. They had no rights. They were held against their will and forced to do what their master said. Depending on how your master was you might had had it a little better than others. But pretty much all slaves had it bad.Well it varied from country to country and owner to owner of course but my understanding is that they were generally treated much worse elsewhere. Although it should be noted that the other countries which practiced black slavery were mostly able to end the practice before we did and do it peacefully. The major exception being Haiti in which slavery was ended by the slaves themselves in a massive and bloody rebellion. Michael MontagnePSAt least the descendants of black slaves in the British and Dutch West Indies got to run their own countries. Although the US has now got a black president he is not the descendant of plantation slaves a fact that people have overlooked.they were treated bad at Spain hHahj
