Unfortunately, you need to use two GameBoy Colors with the GBC link cable. The GameBoy Advance connects at a different frequency than Gameboy Color games can receive.

You can't trade pokemon from red to any other game using a Gameboy Advanced/SP. I've already tried to do it myself and it didn't work. What you need is two Gameboy Colors and the gamelink cable for them.
