Make sure you have an internet connection, Sighn onto xbox live or psn and go to the borderlands section of the marketplace or store and select wichever DLC you want, you can buy the underdome and zombie island as a disc at most stores, I walked into GameStop the other day and they sell preepaid cards that contain the code for the specific DLC you want 9.99, but I absolutely recomend you at least buy secret armory or you wont be able to get overleveled to 61!
