I don't know how you edit on the mine craft pocket edition of mine craft on the kindle because I don't think u can 🙅
I have a Kindle and an iPod Touch, and this frustrates me too. On your Kindle, apps will automatically be updated, you don't have to do a thing. Unfortunately though, Kindle updates come out a couple days later than iOS updates. It does make sense though, MCPE (MineCraft Pocket Edition) is more popular on iOS than it is on Kindle, so the software with the most users will be updated first.
Sadly no the only platforms that can play minecraft are Xbox 360, Xbox One, Pc, Mac, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation Vita. Minecraft Pocket edition is available for IOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Amazon Kindle Fire

You can't play Minecraft on a Kindle. A Kindle is a piece of technology used for reading, not playing games. An iPod can, but not a Kindle.
Kindle is a wireless reading device by Amazon (same amazon as amazon.com) A kindle edition would be an edition of a book that is formatted to be read on the wireless reading device Kindle.
