If it is just the inside handle broken off you can pull the cable with a pair of pliers. If it is in the middle, you should be able to reach up from underneath and cut the cable and then pull the inside cable. If the latch end has pulled off, you may be able to trip the latch from underneath, or take the grill out and unbolt the latch.

The pin that holds the handle to the latch is probably broken. You will need to disassemble the door and put in a new pin. There is a small square panel on the inside of your rear lift gate. To repair or replace a broken or malfunctioning electrical panel latch, the best way is to first turn off the power to the panel. Then, remove the old latch and carefully install a new one following the manufacturer's instructions. It is important to ensure that the latch is securely in place before restoring power to the panel. If unsure, it is recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified electrician for safety and proper installation.
Just "pop" off the Pella Badge with a knife or something ( it is on there with a sticky material) Underneath you will find a Phillips screw that releases the wooden handle. This allows access to the square spline to fall out. Then simply wiggle the broken latch out an reinstall the new one. The broken latch refused to come out until I removed the screen protector from the outside of the screen door. Then it worked like a charm.
Remove the three Philips screws along the top and the two on the bottom corners and remove the entire glove box. You can then work on the latch from the back of the latch and easily open the glove compartment by gently prying off the corners of the glove box from the locking pins.
