To make your Sim(s) get married have the Sim click in to their fiance and click "propose..." and then "get married" or you can do it the fancy way and make them organize a wedding party (by asking Sims to come by the phone) and then buy a wedding arch from the buy catalogue and have them both click on it and get married that way, you can also buy wedding cakes too.
