PS3 because: there is a big fuss about the ps3 being too expensive, blah, blah, blah, but in order to use the xbox like a PS3 there are about $245 worth of over priced Microsoft extras needed to have a good online experience with Xbox. First, $99.99 for a wireless internet adapter (included w/PS3). Second, $59.99 for a Xbox cheap-looking wireless headset (Can use any blue tooth headset w/PS3 which most people already own). Third, $50 for an xbox live gold membership (free PlayStation Network membership PS3). Fourth, $35 for a rechargeable battery set to use w/ controllers (PS3 recharge via USB included). And then there's the blu-ray. How much do they cost now a days? Oh yeah, $200-$300.
A PS3 costs $300. It's like buying a blu-ray player a getting a PS3 free. (Or the opposite)
FINAL CHECK: PS3 | Xbox 360
$300 | $450
PS3 has a lot of exclusive games: inFamous, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo, just to name a few. Xbox has Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, and... that's pretty much it.
The Xbox 360 has good graphics, but PS3 has way better. There is a reason game developers always show the PS3 cover and not the xbox one. Here is the proof:

UPDATE: They now have Halo: Reach, yay for them.
Update 2: Bungie ( maker of Halo series ) is ending its exclusive contract with Microsoft. While Halo will still be Xbox-only, Bungie will make new games on PS3 as well.
Xbox 360 and PS3 are good, but... Wii wins. Reason: Virtual Console. That is all.
The ps3 is not better than xbox 360. Whatever ps3 has, xbox 360 has it better.
