Is there a way of getting minecraft on chromebook?

Sadly, you cannot, I was wondering the same thing so I bought a Samsung Chromebook and minecraft doesn't run since the Chrome OS doesnt support Java.

However, if you are willing to get your hands dirty with developer mode, you can install Crouton and then play Minecraft there. Search YouTube for "How To Install Minecraft on a Chromebook" for example.

This may not work very well on ARM CPU based Chromebooks such as the Samsung Series 3. If you have an Intel Chromebook, it should be a little easier.

Technically yes, it is possible to run Minecraft on a Chromebook. But it requires a lot of steps to get it working, and since there is no official version available for Chrome OS, you must replace your operating system with Ubuntu and run the application from there. The game is not compatible with s stock Chromebook. A possible workaround is to port Linux or ChrUbuntu into the Chromebook, as the game can be played on Linux OS, but it's not certain that while in that environment you can successfully play the game.
