Originally known as "Motto Hearts," these candies were printed with phrases and messages, making them popular for Valentine's Day. NECCO's production of conversation hearts continued for over a century, becoming a staple of the holiday. However, NECCO went out of business in 2018, and production was later picked up by a different company.
