In forward flight, a propeller typically turns clockwise when viewed from the cockpit of the aircraft. This rotation direction creates thrust by pulling air over the wings, allowing the aircraft to move forward. However, it's important to note that some aircraft have counter-clockwise rotating props, depending on their design. Always refer to the specific aircraft's manual for accurate information.
A prop is any object used by the actors on stage.

A babystay is a nautical term, a stay - prop or support - just forward of the mast.
An motor can be connected to the side of a 55 gallon drum filled with water and run that way. Or you can purchase "ear muffs" at a marina. They attach to a garden hose. You put the muffs around the intake ports above the propeller, turn on the garden hose and wait to see if water comes out the exhaust port. If it does, you know you have the muffs in the right place. Then turn on your engine. Start it in neutral! If you put it in forward or reverse the prop will spin. Make sure nothing or no one is around the prop.
