Well, first the current minecraft build (version) must be compatible with your computer. Whether you have a Linux, Apple, or Windows computer, you need to make sure its compatible. If you know for sure your computer is compatible with Minecraft, you must also put into perspective how much data it can take. I experience around 30-60 fps rate while playing, sometimes dropping into the 20's if there is a lot going on. I have 4 gbs of ram and an i3 processor. Check out this link to see whether or not your computer can handle it, and keep in mind that these stats can be absolutely bare minimum.

You cant, althrough you can put it on a USB

You can. Your computer is wrong.
Try and send the file to another computer and play it on there!
Based on your computer type (laptop or PC), your processing system (Mac or Windows), the age of your computer, the amount of ram you have, and your Java version (32 or 64 bit) your computer may not be able to support Minecraft.
