Honestly, the best thing to do is call your local pool store and have them send someone to do it. It's fairly tricky to do, and it really easy to tear the liner during install. Also, the temperature outside has to be just right. If it's too cold, the liner will crack and tear very easily. If it's too hot, the liner will over-stretch. You can go to www.backyardescape.com to find a pool store in your area. They seem to be the best place. The site is put together by the biggest pool companies in the country, and all the stores that buy from them are listed, so it seems to be the most comprehensive list I've found yet. Good luck! Maybe this will help, but it is a lot of work and things could go wrong. Installation instructions are available at instheswim.com. These instructions seem to be a bit simplistic, but who am I to criticize. It probably would be good to consult a pool shop professional if you can. When I installed my liner I did not follow these instructions. Anyway, to locate the instructions, go to the main page at intheswim.com. Click on the category

Only if the A/G pool has a beaded liner. If it is an overlap liner, there's no way around it.

My husband has had two at a time off to adjust the liner. I wouldn't do any more than that though! Our pool has 10,000 gallons.

Yes, but new bead receptor will need to be installed. It is better to remove and install the new liner over a good pool bottom or a resurfaced pool bottom.

What is a cheap way to repair a 12 in x 12 in section of an inground pool liner?

Remove the old damaged liner and install a new one.

What is the difference between a beaded liner and an overlap liner for above ground swimming pools?

A beaded liner will have a thick bead or lip of vinyl around the top of the liner. This bead will fit into a track which is made to receive the bead at the top edge of your pool. To replace it you simply pull out the old one an insert the new. There is a little more to it, but as far as the bead is concerned that is all you have to do with it. Overlap liners are harder to install because there is no bead so you don't know where the correct height is. You overlap the liner over the top edge of the swimming pool and clamp it in place with a piece of plastic. A beaded liner is harder to measure but easier to install and a over lapping liner is just the opposite because you are constantly adjusting the plastic clamps.

Can you replace old cracked coping on a vinyl liner pool?

Yes you can! We have a pool and my dad fixed ours.

What could cause bulges on the wall of a vinyl swimming pool that is only a few years old?

They probably did not install a pump underground(to pump ecsess Water) so when it rains alot or the ground is saturated your pool liner streches. Most vinal pool companies dont.

Can you put a new swimming pool liner over the old one?

I believe you can. I had an estimate to fibreglass line my pool which was previously lined with vinyl. The tech came out and said they would take the liner out, prepare the surface and coat. There was never any talk of excavating the pool. QUESTION about the above. WHO gave you the estimate, and did you have it done?

When you replace the liner of an above ground overlap pool can you drain the pool leave the original liner and put the replacement on top or do you need to remove the original before refilling?

You need to remove the old liner. Leaving the old one will cause the new one to retain moisture between the layers and rot the new vinyl and rot the walls of the pool.

Can my inground pool liner be saved by using a piece of old liner with a bead and glue to old liner?

It's certainly worth a try. I would use Aqua Seal or Seal All. -Both available in Walmart.

Can you put the new liner on top of the old one?

The answer is no. Vinyl liner pools and the concrete deck around the pool are constructed with "concrete receptor coping". The concrete deck is poured into the receptor coping which at the very bottom has was is called a "bead receptor". The vinyl liner at the top has what we call a bead, used to install the liner into the bead receptor. Because there is, and can be, only one bead receptor, a second liner cannot be installed.

If you have a Foxx inground pool that needs its liner replaced do you have to replace the liner ASAP?

No you can use the pool with old liner. Foxx is strong and the sides will hold without water. The only thing is that you need to keep adding water and eventually the sand on the bottom will wash away.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl swimming pool versus fiberglass pool?

Well first of all there is no such thing as a fiberglass pool. You can have fiberglass walls instead of steel but your pool is still vinyl because you need a liner. These are the usual combinations of inground pools. Sand floor, steel walls, vinyl liner Sand floor, fiberglass walls, vinyl liner Vermiculite floor, steel walls, vinyl liner Vermiculite floor, fiberglass walls, vinyl liner Concrete floor, steel walls, vinyl liner Concrete floor, fiberglass walls, vinyl liner Concrete floor, concrete walls, no liner Concrete pools have to be painted with epoxy paint or if you want tile installed then usually you plaster over the concrete. Now a days 3 and 4 are the most common inground installs. 1 and 2 are usually pools that are 30 + years old although you can still have them done that way. In South Alabama the cost of a 20 *40 vinyl pool will cost around 18 to 22 thousand

Can you leave the bottom part of an old pool liner when installing the new one?

Think about it for a minute> It can not be done.
