Unfortunately, even though the United States of America is one country (one nation)...it has 53 different levels of laws. (1) Federal Laws; (50) STATE LAWS; COUNTY LAWS (called county ordinances); MUNICIPAL LAWS (called city codes). An example of using the word "unfortunate" for all these laws: In California it is legal to use medical prescripton Marijuania; but it is illegal under federal law. So now the "law system" is fighting amongst itself (a house divided). Having an open can of beer while in a motor vehicle on a public road might be legal in one state...but illegal in another state. Shooting an animal for sport (hunting) in one state might be perfectly legal; but it might be totally illegal in another state.
