Follow the instructions in the owner's manual; take it to a gun smith. First, obviously, make absolutely certain that the gun is unloaded Removing the slide releases the firing pin and it may fire if there is a round in it. On the rear of the slide is a round silver cap. Take the eraser end of the pencil and press that cap inward while lifting gently on the slide. When you have pressed it in far enough the hook on the cap will clear and the cap and spring can be slid out of the slide. Slide the slide forward and off.

Best to ask a gunsmith for help.
first you take the clip out -then take a bic pen or other object and push in the firing pin (where the hammer would be) and lift the slide up- clean the the barrel-and parts leave the spring on the barrel and slide the frame onto it then slide the firing pin and spring onto the unit until it locks-easy
Remove the magazine, insure that weapon is unloaded by checking the chamber. With pistol pointed in safe direction, pull trigger releasing the firing pin. Use a ballpoint pin and depress the round section at the rear center of the slide. While holding the round section in, raise the rear of the slide, and gently release the round section. Slide the slide forward off the barrel. firing pin and spring can be removed from slide. STOP. Do not take apart any further.
there is slide release on right hang side small button push this in then pull slide backwards toward you if this dose not work take to a local gun smith
To remove the slide from an Iver Johnson TM22PB Trailside: (1) pull the slide back (2) push down on the take down button (top of the slide in front of the rear sights) (3) push the slide forward (if you did this correctly the recoil spring is pinned and the slide will not be forced closed). (4) take the side grips off (5) drift the mainspring housing pin out (6) remove the mainspring housing (the spring is pinned so there's no worry of anything launching). (7) take the slide off Cheers

in google type in highpoint firearms and it will take you to the manufactors home page and then from there you can look up your models model number and it will tell you how to take it apart. its pretty easy all you gotta do is slide the slide all the way back knock out a pin then lift up and push forward and there you have it
First, MAKE SURE THE GUN IS UNLOADED! Pull the slide to the rear, and lock it. Remove the magazine. Take the spring pressure off the recoil spring, by carefully turning the catch to release the recoil spring cap. Unlock slide, and slide it so that it's over the dismount cutout. Push slide lock out with fingers, and take slide off rails. Barrel will fall out of slide. Reverse to re-assemble.
It really varies by model. Some model simply require you to slide some tabs and pull gently. Others require you to physically disassemble much of the laptop.
