Early sidelock double-barrel shotgun with external hammers. Please do not attempt to shoot it until you have it thoroughly checked by a reputable gunsmith. The barrels were not designed for today's ammunition in both chamber length (16ga was 2 9/16" back then), construction (shells were paper, not plastic hulled) and pressure. sales@countrygunsmith.net
I own one and absolutely love it. I keep it loaded with #8 birdshot in the event that someone was to intrude into my house. A shotgun with bird shot is the safest, yet most intimidating gun you can have for self-protection. The double barreled 12 gauge from Billerica is a great deal. I'd be willing to pay up to $280 cash for one used.
From 130.00 in poor shape to 280 in like new condition.

Double means multiply by '2' or another word is 'twice'. 280 x 2 = 560

A standard barrel (Drum) is 55 gallons, therefore if the barrel is full of water it would weigh 440 pounds. An oil barrel is smaller and holds only 40 gallons and weigh apx 280 lbs as petroleum is lighter than water
I just bought one used from Cabelas for $280.
280
No. I visited the Browning Web site and found that the only caliber they had close to the 280 was the 270. Of the moderate priced rifles a 280 can be obtained from Remington, Thompson Center and you might be able to find one in a Winchester Mod 70 Lightweight.
30% off of 280= 30% discount applied to 280= 280 - (30% * 280)= 280 - (0.30 * 280)= 280 - 84= 196
