I believe that is a model 311. I have the same double barrel.
To attach a forearm to a Stevens 940E shotgun, first ensure the shotgun is unloaded and safe. Remove the barrel by unscrewing the barrel nut, then slide the forearm onto the magazine tube. Align the forearm with the barrel, reattach the barrel, and tighten the barrel nut securely to hold the forearm in place. Always double-check for proper fit and function after reassembly.

I can't answer your question but I have a series 5 16 gauge. your post is the first time I've seen reference to this gun on the internet. M

50-100
I just bought one at a gun auction for $350.00. However, the forearm was mot attached which lowered the price.
Serial numbers were not required before 1968. If it has one, check under the forearm, on the barrel and on the action.
Follow the link to the related question. The model 94 is definitely a J. Stevens product.
savage, stevens, marlin, noble ,mossbesrg and last but not least colt all made guns for westernfeild . need the model number to say for sure. a good guess would noble o .rstevens
