Germany had a greater army than Great Britain during WWI. Germany outnumbered Great Britain by about 4 million military personnel. Great Britain had to have more numbers from other allies to meet the numbers.
The allied powers (Great Britain, France, Russia, And America) All made an agreement to make Germany pay war reparations for being the "Cause" of WWI
For starters, the treaty ended WWI by subjecting Germany to ruinious financial penalties and limited what they could do in the way of rearming themselves to, say, protect themselves from Russia. Hitler was able to use these onerous restrictions as an example of Britain, France and other allies mistreatment of Post WWI Germany. Anything that went wrong was blamed not on the Kaiser of Germany but those countries that forced Germany to surrender on such ruinous terms.
the two power standard was the apart of the arms race in WWI. Germany and France wanted a navy like Britain but to prevent this from happening for every ship that they built, Britain also built a ship. so the ratio was 2:1
Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary.
In WWI, Britain was on a previous arm race with Germany. Germany was on her way to become an industrial nation of fleet and military equal to that of Britain, so Britain was in for: 1. Arm Race and naval pride. 2. Her will to stay on the top of the colonization pyramid and have many colonies, this was a shared goal with Germany and Britain was not willing to share. 3. To "test" the military power (militarism). 4. Alliances that were nailing Britain to help (actually benefited Britain, but the first motivation was to help). 5. Nationalism.
The Allied Powers won WWI
To help France and Russia defeat Germany. Britain wanted Germany to lose WWI, so they joined France and Russia. Britain was worried that if Germany won WWI, they would be too powerful for England to defeat by themselves, so they joined France and Russia and declared war on Germany.

The relations between Great Britain and their former colonies would be deterred.
The relations between Great Britain and their former colonies would be deterred.
They didn't. If you are talking about Germany, then in WWI it was because of Germany's submarine warfare, which was sinking U.S. ships. In WWII, they were allied to Japan, who bombed Pearl Harbor.
In the 1930s, Britain was still recovering from WWI, and was undergoing a mild depression in the economy. Britain also faced the oncoming WWII, with a declaration from Germany that their forces would not back down, pulling Britain into the war.
The previous answer was completely wrong! There was a massive naval race between Germany and Britain prior to the Great War (WWI). This is a major cause of WWI and culminated in the largest naval battle in world history, the battle of Jutland.
The empires that were lost as a result of WWI were Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Germany lost its colonies.
Yes. Great Britain owned parts of Africa from 1661 to 1980. British colonies in Africa peaked after WWI. In the early 1920's, Great Britain owned territories that stretched all the way from North to South Africa. Great Britain controlled more of the African populace than any other Empire.
United States, Canada, Britain Axis - Germany (yes, WWI and WWII)
