Agreement is possible when people are ready to harmonize their opinion. History has shown that nations have often chosen to go to war rather than reach an agreement. So why is there war if everyone wants peace, you may wonder? Nations are often unwilling to disarm because they fear losing power or becoming vulnerable and many of the disarmament commitments and promises have gone unfulfilled.

The limitation of diplomacy is because one or more parties may be unwilling to negotiate, compromise, or accept an agreement. And peace agreements are easily broken.

As the Bible is a letter from God and beneficial for our teaching and setting matters straight, it has become urgent for us to understand why our world is in such a mess. Read 2 Timothy 3: 16,17 in the New Testament.

With that in mind, 1 John 5: 19 in the New Testament, warns us that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one and Revelation 12: 9 helps us to understand who is this wicked influence that has the whole inhabited world under its power, in these words. " The original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth".

The original serpent can be found in the first Book of the Bible, Genesis chapter 3, which is mankind's history. So the root of Human's problems today, is that the world is under a misguiding influence. But God did not leave us without help.

According to 1 John 5: 20 Jesus came on earth to give us insight ( mental perception; intellectual capacity ) so that we may gain knowledge of the one who is true. And we are in union with the one who is true, by means of his Son Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches that people should " seek peace". Read Psalm 34:14. But many today are disloyal...not open to any agreement...betrayers. confirmed in 2 Timothy 3: 1-4. Such traits prevent sincere polical leaders from resolving conflicts. People who are part of our society are responsable for their behaviour.

The Bible says : People should abandon weapons and beat their swords ( weapons) into plowshares ( useful working tools ) Read Isaiah 2:4. However more is required, because violence begins within a person's heart. Matthew 15: 19. explains " Out of the heart come wicked reasonings, the impelling force behind our conduct, is a vital aspect of any inner person, as represented by the" heart ".

That is why it is not in any human's power to prevent another war. In fact the Bible says that it does not belong to man/ woman to direct his/her step. Read Jeremiah 10: 23 in the Old Testament.

Jesus said that we should not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah God's mouth. Read Matthew 4: 4 in the New Testament. As mentioned above in 2 Timothy 3: 16,17, the word of God is in His letter that He has given to us. " The Bible ".

According to Daniel 2: 44 and Matthew 6: 9,10 the solution for peace on earth is God's Kingdom ( government) and Jesus told us to pray for God's kingdom to come where His will, will take place as in heaven also on earth.

People who would like to live in peace, will have to choose God's government. Psalms 37: 29 reads. " The righteous will possess the earth and live forever on it". To become one of those who God will be considered to be righteous, that person will have to live up to God's standards according to the knowledge written in God's letter, "The Bible". Read John 17: 3 in the New Testament, where it is written. " This means everlasting life, their coming to know the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

The Bible also teaches that the world is going to go from bad to worse. Read Matthew21: 6, 7 and 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 which is Jesus's prophecy about what is to come. Such as nations will rise against nations, wars, earthquakes in one place after another and people's behaviour.

So to answer your question, no agreement is possible by the public to prevent what is taking place on earth for the moment, but more of our education to become a better person and be part of the rightoteous ones that will possess the earth as promised in Psalm 37: 29

How did the checks and balance system kept world war 1 from starting?

The checks and balances system, particularly in major powers like Britain, France, and Germany, helped to prevent World War I from igniting earlier by allowing for diplomatic negotiations and power-sharing agreements. The intricate web of alliances and treaties created a situation where countries had to carefully weigh the consequences of their actions, leading to a preference for diplomacy over conflict. Additionally, domestic political considerations and public sentiment often acted as constraints on leaders, further delaying escalation into war. Ultimately, while tensions were high, these checks and balances provided a temporary buffer against immediate conflict.

Why did Britain follow a policy appeasement towards Germany in the 1930s?

Britain followed a policy of appeasement towards Germany in the 1930s primarily to avoid another catastrophic war following World War I. The British government, influenced by public sentiment and the trauma of the previous conflict, believed that satisfying some of Hitler's territorial demands would maintain peace in Europe. Additionally, Britain sought to conserve military resources and was not fully prepared for a confrontation with Germany, leading to a strategy of diplomacy and concessions instead. Ultimately, this approach failed to prevent the escalation of tensions that led to World War II.
