Why did sailors think the world was once flat?

Sailors along time ago thought that the earth was flat because in their day a world being round wouldn't make sense, because they didn't know bout gravity. Their reasons were that if a world was round everything would fall off and the water wouldn't be able to stay were it was because there was nothing to hold it down. It was also very logical because when you look at the ground its flat. We now know about gravity and this answers why the world doesnt fall off into space. We have also seen the world from space and have physical proof it is round, but back then all they had as proof was that the ground is flat on your feet and that being round didnt make sense. I hope this answers your question, ali

An example of division of labor is?

Let's imagine you, me, and another person decide to make bread. If we all grow our own wheat, and then all mill our own wheat, and then all bake our own bread, each one of us is going to need land, farming equipment, a mill, baking facilities and a lot of different expertise. Instead, you could only grow wheat, I could mill all the wheat, and the third person could do all the baking. The advantage of this system is that we all get a lot better at the particular bit we're concentrating on, and we don't each need to have all the equipment, land and buildings. What type of food did the prisoners of war eat?

During the many "death marches" that took place in Europe during World War II, especially in its final months, prisoners did not generally receive satisfactory food-provisions of any kind. From their captors, they might receive a small portion of bread, perhaps unsavory soup, perhaps a handful of low-quality vegetables. They would sometimes be given sustenance (eggs, bread, milk, fruit) by sympathetic observers from villages and towns. Sometimes they might be able to forage for themselves from the fields and forests through which they were marched.
