World War (II) ended in Europe in 1945. The date of the formal surrender is 8th May 1945. The War continued if the 'Far East' until the USA dropped two Atomic Bombs . One on Nagasaki ,and the other on Hiroshima. Then World War (II) was trult brought to an end in August 1945. These two atomic bombs dropped on Japan are the only time 'The BOMB' has been used in 'anger.'
