For the most part, Jesse James was shot for the reward money and the noteriety.

Governor Crittenden has been negotiating with the Ford brothers to capture and bring in Jesse. Bob Ford, the younger brother, opted to shoot Jesse twice in the back of the head while he was adjusting a tilted picture at Jesse's house in St. Joseph, Missouri where they had been staying.

The Fords attempt to collect the reward was never realized. They were arrested, tried, and convicted fo first degree murder and sentenced to hang. Their sentences were pardoned by governor Crittenden.

It depends on how you define "places he lived." He was born and raised in Centraville (now Kearney), Missouri. However, when he was on his crime spree, he traveled throughout the mid-west. Why did James earl ray shoot Martin Luther King jr even know he was white?

James Earl Ray shot Dr. King, even thought James was white, he didn't like the way things were going. He wanted everything to go back. He wanted whites to be good, and blacks to be bad. He shot Martin while he was walking on his balcony for a meeting. James fired the gun in Martin's head. Martin fell down on the balcony floor. While he did, James ran away. A little while later, Dr. King's wife, and some other people came to the meeting. They found Martin Luther King's body lying on the floor. They pointed over near a corner where I think they saw a gun lying on the ground. And so that's how Martin Luther King Jr died.Rest in peach Dr. King.- Maya
