There were no Nazi's in WW1. The war began as a result of many tensions all over the world. Most notably the assassination of the Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophia, he was the heir to the Austro Hungarian throne and was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip, who was a member of the Black Hand movement. This was a Bosnian terrorist group, who were infuriated over Bosnia not having independence. Serbia (a large slavonic country) was blamed for this terrorist attack and hence Austro Hungary gave the Serbians an ultimatum. Which basically meant either become part of the Austro Hungarian empire or go to war with them. The Russians backed up Serbia and the two countries went to war with Austria Hungary. Austria Hungary was in alliance with Germany and Italy and hence those countries were too at war. Russia was allied with France and hence she too was involved. Britain later became involved when the Germans marched through Belgium (a neutral country) as part of their Shlieffen Plan.
