It is important that the US President makes the country's citizens feel that thy can do good in the world and make a positive contribution to society both at home and abroad, because in the United States society is very polarised between rich and poor. There is a huge forgotten underclass that live in poverty and feel that their voices are not heard, that nobody cares about them and that they are expected to be personally reliant when they cannot begin to be so. Conditions for a lot of America's poor are sometimes so bad as to be almost akin to that of developing countries. A good US President will instil in this large percentage of the American populace as sense of self-worth and self-value, whilst at the same time initiating social schemes and programmes that will motivate them to become more active in society, enable them to train to get work, and to feel a sense of egalitarianism that will prevent them from turning to crime, gun-culture, drug or alcohol dependency, and lower the risk of suicides. The native North American Indian population need to feel that they are respected US citizens too, and that the US Government regrets it's past wrongs towards them and now regards them and their history & culture with equal respect and admiration. It is also important because in the eyes of much of the rest of the world, the USA has a bad reputation for being a global bully, interfering in other country's affairs and creating secret plots and schemes to destabilise foreign Governments to create a world that suits the interests of the American ruling class. This is why it has become so hated in parts of Latin America and the Middle East. It is important that Americans are shown to be good people who do not condone, or agree with, this reputation, and are enabled to have the confidence to reach out to the rest of the world with the best of intentions, as peace-loving, beneficient and philanthropic who only want to be friends with, and take an interest in, other regions and cultures of the world.
