I assume you are asking, which is better to have in a household, as far as male and female cats. I have found there is no set rule, some same sexes get along fine and others don't. I have had all kinds of combinations. They are just like people in that respect. Helen
The same as why a male and female groom each other, usually; they are friendly and possibly dirty :)
Yes cats can live with other cats but some cats are stubborn and don't like sharing their space. If your cat is a nice one it will probably welcome the new cat just as you do. It's all about personality. Animals have personalities just as people do. Some are more aggressive and territorial, whereas others are affectionate and quite happy to share their people.
get a female cat or else you will have lots of kittens...Another Answer:The only way to prevent a litter is to get all the household cats neutered. Personality wise, there is no "best" combination gender. Getting a female or a male cat is completely up to you and what you think is best. It may be ideal to look for a cat whom is used to the company of other cats so that the initial transition to your home is easier on both cats.
Anothe female but younger and if possible the same full grown size or smaller. Your female dog will teach it that she is the alfa female and a younger dog will learn this. If not the other dog will take charge and there could be some fighting between the two. There can only be one Alfa female or male in the house, if not alot of jealousy and fighting. I hope this helps. D
Yes, your tom will still spray around the house as he will view this as his territory and to keep other toms out. The the spraying may even get worse once the female comes into season. Your male cat will want the female all to himself so will mark his territory even more. It is also known for female in heat to spray, also. If do not want your cats to spray, it is advisable to get them spayed and neutered.
2 Black Cats, one male and one female. Male is called Sampson. Female is called Delilah. Sampson and Delilah.

Are we talking UNNEUTERED male cats, and UNNEUTERED male rabbit? You are leaving yourself open for a lot of spraying. Neutered males should be able to co-exist unless someone has a dominant intimidating personality, which can't be determined until they are all in the house together.
When male and female cats fight, the more likely to fight each other would be 2 females if fixed, but more likely two males if they are not fixed.
First of all female cats aren't neutered they are spayed. The tom probably isn't neutered and all he smells are the two female cats inside.

Yes it is.
It really depends entirely on the individual animals. Typically, male dogs who haven't been fixed are more territorial than females, so based on that knowledge I would suggest a female. However, I have 2 male dogs and 1 female who all get along just fine in a house with a male cat. So, again, it just depends on the specific cat and dog.
Dogs cannot double-date of course. But 1 wants the female and must fight to get the female. That's the only way to see who gets the female. If they keep fighting you should get rid of the female or a male, or the 2 males..
If you want your dog at the house at all times i recomend a female lab and when its older it may get puppies which your children would adore. A male labrador would be very playful but may be gone rambling
No, but if you do they will be less vicious and they won't wander as far from home. (I have 4 cats and 2 are male. 1 is neutered and the other isn't. The neutered one doesn't have a care in life but the other one is still a big softy! It depends what your cat is like. Also, un-neutered male cats like to spray to mark their territory!) Hope this was useful to you.
