They have fur. Like most dogs who shed their fur terriers don't. When they lose their hair it has to be pulled off like our hair. They are dogs that people get if they are allergic to dogs.
Well, I'm referring to all terriers. But when you say silky they are brown and black most of the time. Most rarely they are white. Silky terriers are mixed in with a hint of Dachshunds, Cairn terriers, and Yorkshire terriers.
My recourse says that the cleverest dog is a Border Collie. Here are the top 10 smartest dogsBorder colliepoodleGerman shepherdGolden retrieverDoberman pinscherShetland SheepdogpapillonrottweilerAulstralian cattle dog
Purebred dogs are usually classified into a group, usually, terriers are smart and very active dogs that were bred to chase rodents and such. They do tend to argue with other dogs and are noisy, and will probably try to be the most dominant. Gundogs were bred to assist hunters, they are usually less noisy, more easy going and less argumentative then terriers, they are also usually smart dogs.
Hey, I would say that the dog breed that looks most like a lamb would be the Bedlington Terrier. But there are many others, like Poodles, Labradoodles, Bichon Frise, maybe even a fluffy white Border Collie (the best type of dogs, I have one!)! Hope I have helped! JJ x
Maltese Terriers!

Many consider Yorkshire terriers to be lap dogs, so I would guess being close to their owners.

Yes. Most dogs do. If you're looking for a hypoallergenic dog, try shih-tzus, bichon frise, any hairless breed, border terriers, Irish water spaniel, lhasa apso, Maltese, samoyed, tibetan or wheaten terriers, or a yorkie. I'm sure there are other breeds out there as well if you don't care for any of these.
Well jamiegirl, you need to do a little more research, because they can. Even though it does not happen often, it does happen. The same as most Border Terriers have slick wiry coats, you can get them with long coats as well, with a curl tail that has long hair on it. If you are unaware of this, you may want to check out an upstanding breeder in Montana that has a beautiful little guy. It is Big Sky Border Terriers. Like I said, it does not happen often, but it does happen.
As of 2009, in order of most to least popular going down the list:Labrador Retrievers German Shepherd Dogs Yorkshire Terriers Golden Retrievers Beagles
Border collies or Labrador Retrievers
Most Border Collies do make outstanding sheep dogs, if they are trained properly. They do so because it's in their instinct from their ancestors on the border between Scotland and England. :)
Most dogs love to go on walks... if they don't then it's either because they are just too old and their legs dont work as well as when they are young..but other than that yes..yorkshire terriers and other kinds of dogs love to go on walks =)
There are a lot ofScottishdog breeds, but the most well known breeds are the Scottish terrier, Border collie, Rough collie, Shetland sheepdog, and Blood hound.
