i have two female dwarf hamster's together they get on just fine.
NEVER put two males together as they will fight, and give each other horrible injuries as being a vet i have witnessed.
You can put a female & male together but they may breed and make baby hamsters or dwarf hamsters.
always KEEP SYRAIN HAMSTERS ALONE with NO other hamster in there cage only keep drawf hamster's in pairs or groups.
Hamsters reproduce through mating between a male and female. The female will become pregnant and give birth to a litter of baby hamsters, called pups, after a gestation period of around 16-18 days. The mother hamster will take care of her pups until they are old enough to be independent.
You never know for sure... my hamster actually just had her second set of pups. The first time she had two (They don't have many the first time they give birth) and just 12 days ago she had 7 more. If you think yours may be pregnant give it food with a lot of water and keep it healthy before and after birth. And if she does have babies, Remove the dad from the cage. Boy hamsters are territorial and mine attacked the new born babies. But yeah, your hamster may have any number of babies.. 2 at the least, & probably no more than 9 or 10.
A Syrian hamster can give birth to a litter size ranging from 4 to 12 pups, with the average being around 7 pups. It is important to provide the mother hamster with a suitable environment and care during this time to ensure the health and well-being of the pups.
Baby hamsters are called pups when they are born.
Male and female hamsters can be left together for mating for about 10-15 minutes. It is important to supervise the mating process to ensure that it occurs smoothly and without any aggressive behavior. After mating, the male should be separated from the female to prevent any potential harm.
Make sure to separate the two when the time comes for the mother to have the pups! If it's the father, I'm sure he would try to eat the pups after birth.
Once the gerbil is pregnant, the male should be put into another cage, away from the female. In fact the female's cage should be in a quiet, isolated place. Then, she is more likely to feed and care for the pups. So, remove the male from the cage ASAP.
My hamster is moving all her babys out of her bed
It doesn't take much to stress a hamster out so when a female gives birth her cage should be isolated from other cages (she should be the only adult hamster in her cage too) in a darker and quieter area. She should also be given plenty of food and water, and have a wheel to run on at night. The pups shouldn't be touched by you either.
no
Get another cage?
It is possible but I don't think petco wants unwanted hamster pups and the babies will be poor because hamster are not supposed to mate that young or there is a chance they will not
10-18 days.
It takes anywhere between 15-21 days, If it is a Chinese hampster it will most likely take 21 days.
they will if you don't take the male gerbil out of the cage after around less than a two weeks because if they mate after the female gerbil has her pups than they will mate again and she will not take care of the first litter of pups.
They dont. as long as there not sick they can have pups.
You have to see how long it is over the gestation period. If it is really over the gestation period, your hamster may not even be pregnant at all. There are cases of false pregnancy where the hamster is not pregnant just showing the signs of pregnancy or it could have reabsorbed all the pups.
