Can a tiger attack a lion?

In the wild, lions and tigers live on two different continents; lions on Africa and tigers on Asia. Therefore, they would not be confronted by one another in a natural setting for the attack to take place. However, if the two were put together by human intervention, it would probably result in the tiger and lion fighting regardless of who "starts" the fight with the first attack. But, the end result would be a win for the tiger, because they are significantly bigger and stronger than lions.

It was definitely done in the wild, the answer is Asiatic lion. In XX century tiger attacked a lion in the pit.Gir forest.Lion killed that tiger but because not only because there were no way out, one had to be killed but also because tiger took the lion by surprise and some scenes were played more than once to make the viewiers think it was a long fight.It was a male not a tigress.Anyway it proved that tiger or tigress stand no chance in front of the king.
