I've got a yellow belly slider, And I've had him for a about 3 months.
Hes only a baby, But he has mistaken my finger for food, And tried to bite it, Just don't put your finger near its mouth, And I'm sure if it did bite you, It wouldn't hurt.
And I request Yellow belly and Missipi map turtles, As first turtle pets.
They're great, Just think about there future though, Due to the fact they can live for a long time. =]
A slider turtle is basically like a category of turtles including the Yellow Belly Slider Turtle and the Red Eared Slider turtle.
They bite pretty hard.
Red-eared slider turtles may burrow to regulate their body temperature, find protection from predators, escape extreme weather conditions, or seek a place to hibernate. Burrowing can also provide a sense of security and privacy for the turtle.
Female red ear slider turtles may display aggressive behaviors towards each other, especially when competing for resources or mating opportunities. Fighting among female red ear slider turtles is more commonly seen in captivity rather than in the wild due to artificial enclosure conditions. It is important to provide ample space, proper hiding spots, and a balanced diet to minimize aggression.
Painted turtles are not aggressive and typically do not bite humans unless they feel threatened or cornered. However, any animal has the potential to bite when feeling threatened, so it's always important to handle them gently and with care.
A yellowbelly slider is a species of turtle, Latin name Trachemys scripta scripta.
You can buy turtles at the PetShack. You may be able to find them at various pet stores or have them ordered for you. Most pet stores will order certain things if they have access to them.

Red eared slider turtles bask though out the day. There is no specific time that they prefer.
You can purchase a good quality turtle food and/or leafy greens. You can allow the greens to float in the water. The turtles will bite off of it.
