Cats can be delicate things, and need looking after.

Adult cats are fine with being fed twice a day. Some owners leave out a little dry food throughout the day. Fresh water always needs to be available.

Give them a basket with a comfy cushion so they can sleep well at night, or find out where your cat prefers to sleep and line that with blankets.

Find out if your cat is a long-hair or a short-hair. Long hairs need combing once every 2 days. Short hairs are once a week.

Litterboxes should be in quiet areas of the house. Cats like their privacy when toileting, so putting the tray where there isn't much household activity will help the cat feel safe.

If your cats tail is moving wildly then do not touch the cat, it might scratch and bite, and believe me, it hurts. Ensure that the cat has somewhere where it can go if it wants to be alone. Cats like to have "safe" places where they can hide if they are scared by something. Leave the cat alone until it feels it is safe enough to come out.

What is the difference from a kitten and a cat?

A kitten is a young cat, typically under one year of age. Kittens are usually more playful, curious, and energetic compared to adult cats. Cats are fully grown and generally more independent, calm, and settled in their behavior.

How do you revive a dead kitten?

Once a kitten has passed away it is doubtful that it will be able to be revived. If one is it was a miracle. Depending on the reason the kitten needs to be revived depends on how to attempt to help it patting it's back or mouth to mouth can help in some cases .

Your Kitten jumps on everything is that a stage or will he grow out of it?

Cats pounce on their prey. That is a normal cat behavior. Cats also climb and sit on high places. Also normal cat behavior. Sounds like your kitten is perfectly normal. **Cats (and kittens) love to be in high places. They will NOT outgrow this completely, but they do calm down as they mature. However it can be trained not to jump up on things you do not wish them to jump up on. This takes lots of time and patience though.

How long do you keep a kitten indoors before allowing it out?

Do not let the kitten out until you are satisfied that he/she will be able to cope with the various dangers that the outdoors presents and that he/she will be able to find his/her way home (we were advised not to let our cats outdoors until they were at least six months old). Make sure the cat has had all its vaccinations, been neutered and been microchipped/is wearing a collar with an id tag. Try to introduce the cat to the outside slowly- accompany it around the garden as it explores and discourage it from leaving until it is used to it, call it back frequently and reward it with a small amount of food or a favourite treat. If you have a conservatory, you can accustom the cat to that first as an intermediate, where they can view the outside but be safely confined. We bring our cats in at night as they are less visible on the roads and therefore more likely to be injured in the dark, if you decide to do this it is a good idea to start from the first time you let them out and make it a routine- they should come in quite happily.

Can cats be crazy?

The term "crazy" is a very subjective word - what may be crazy to others may be completely normal to a different set of individuals. However, many kittens and cats - particularly their behavior and antics - are believed to be crazy by many people. It is well known that cats have their "crazy half-hour" or "cat crazies" where they will hurtle around the house for no apparent reason - and then suddenly stop as soon as it began. This is really very much akin to a small child; children will often run around like mad just to release all that pent-up energy, and it is very likely cats, especially kittens, do the same for the exact same reasons: To release pent-up energy and above all - to have fun! It also serves as a brilliant workout for them. Kittens can often be confusing in this manner: One minute they are calm and cuddly, and the next they are all little teeth and claws and huge wide eyes. For some new kitten owners, this is where it stops being fun and because they think their kitten is "evil", the kitten is put in a shelter. In fact, it couldn't be more from the truth. Kittens play rough, and it doesn't matter if they are a fellow cat or a human as the playmate. They use their teeth and claws and can hurt if not trained properly. Kittens will often grow out of this phase, but many cats are still playful and will happily play with their owners if there isn't another feline companion to play with. This is a far cry from a cat actually being crazy. Few cats have mental illnesses and often have a reason for behaving in a certain way - it is down to the owner to educate themselves about their beloved companion's behavior.
