Background: Trimethylaminuria (fish-odor syn- drome) is a rare metabolic disorder characterized by a body malodor similar to that of decaying fish. The con- dition results from mutations affecting the flavin- containing monooxygenase 3 (FMO3) gene. Affected in- dividuals may exhibit a variety of psychosocial phenomena. A high index of suspicion for this disorder needs to be maintained when treating individuals pre- senting with a history of real or perceived body odor. Observation: We evaluated a 41-year-old man who pre- sented with a long medical history of a fishy body odor. Results from biochemical investigations confirmed a di- agnosis of primary trimethylaminuria, and results of mo- lecular genetic studies revealed homozygosity for a mu- tation on exon 4 of the FMO3 gene, FMO3/P153L (c.458C → T). The patient found that information he sub- sequently obtained about his condition on the internet and discussion with friends and family members to be the most useful therapeutic approach. Conclusions: Trimethylaminuria is a rare metabolic dis- order. Psychological accompaniments are recognized as major sources of distress to affected individuals. We dis- cuss the features of this syndrome and highlight the im- portance of counseling and support in the treatment of such patients. Arch Dermatol. 2007;143:81-84

Fish do not have the ability to develop Tourette syndrome, as it is a complex neurological disorder found in humans. Tourette syndrome is characterized by involuntary movements and vocal sounds called tics, which are a result of abnormalities in the brain. Fish lack the brain structures necessary to exhibit such behaviors.
To control outdoor dog odor, make sure to regularly bathe your dog with a pet-friendly shampoo and brush their fur to remove debris. Keep your dog's living area clean and regularly change their bedding to prevent odors from building up. Consider using odor-neutralizing sprays or planting odor-absorbing plants in the outdoor area.
No, fish do not have hollow bones. Fish have a bony skeletal structure that is made up of solid bones. The solid bones provide support and protection to the fish's body and contribute to their buoyancy control in water.
Fish such as koi, grass carp, and tilapia are known to eat typha cattails. They feed on the roots, stems, and leaves of the plant, helping to control its growth in aquatic environments.
Fish smell is simply called fish odor. If you are thinking of fish odor syndrome, it is called trimethylaminuria, and is a rare genetic disorder.
Trimethylaminuria TMAU, formerly called Fish Odor Syndrome, is a metabolic disorder in which an individual is lacking the necessary enzyme to breakdown a chemical named trimethylamine. This missing enzyme causes trimethylamine to accumulate in the body and is then released in sweat, urine and breath. Some individuals give off a strong fishy body odor but it can vary to a garbage, burning or other body odor ( odour ) depending on the amount of residual enzyme. Some wine refrigerators do have a charcoal filter for odor control.
Common causes of fish odor in the kitchen include cooking fish, improper storage of fish, and not cleaning cooking surfaces properly. To effectively eliminate fish odor, you can try using vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, or commercial odor eliminators. Proper ventilation, cleaning with soap and water, and using air fresheners can also help remove the smell.

Zeolite odor control products are beneficial in eliminating unwanted smells because they are natural, non-toxic, and effective at absorbing and neutralizing odors. Zeolite has a porous structure that traps odor molecules, making it a powerful and long-lasting solution for odor control.
The recommended cat litter depth for optimal odor control and absorption is around 2-3 inches.
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) deodorant offers natural odor control benefits due to its antibacterial properties that help eliminate odor-causing bacteria. Additionally, ACV can help balance the skin's pH levels, reducing sweat and odor production.
