my dog had recurring ear infections and would not sit still while i put the ointment in his ears and even got to the point where he would growl at me. i put a muzzle on him and it worked great. it made me more relaxed knowing i wasn't going to get bit and that in turn made him more relaxed. now i use it for all my dogs and i don't have any more problems. also when it was time to do his ears i wouldn't show him the meds or the muzzle until i had him sitting where i wanted him and then i would just quickly put it on him from the side so he couldn't see it. after i finished with his ears i would give him one of his favorite treats. he still hated having it done but the muzzled made it so much easier for us both.
