Size varies greatly by species. The smallest adult spiders are only 1 to 2 mm in length, while the largest ones (the Goliath tarantula and Giant Huntsman) can reach a length of 30 cm (1 foot) and weigh hundreds of times as much. Specimens have also been identified of a rare Samoan spider that grows to be less than half a millimeter long (0.43 mm), the smallest known spiders in the world.
Recently the 'World's Largest Spider Ever Fossil" was debunked as being a crab. So as far as I know your best bet is a Camel spider. but... before you count that, Camel spiders aren't technically spiders.-The Camel Spider is also not as large as people think. Much larger is the Goliath Bird Eating Spider- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goliath_Bird_Eating_Spider actually the largest spiders are the huntsman spiders of south east asia. With a larger leg span than the goliath spider of south america.*** *** ***Just a short note to say that when the fossil of the Megarachne servinei was found in 1980, it was indeed considered by the paleontologists as the 'World's Largest Spider Ever", with a leg span of half a metre. However, in 2005, a second more complete fossil was found in Argentina, and after comparative study with the holotype, paleontologist Dr. Paul Delden concluded that Megarachne servinei was not a spider, but was in fact a sea scorpion, an eurypterid from the Pennsylvanian epoch of the Carboniferous period.

The Conraua Goliath weighs as much as a large housecat, about 3.3 kilos! Not to be confused with the Goliath Tree Frog. The Goliath tree frog is the largest of the tree frogs. They get to be a little bigger than golfball size. They are cousins of the viatnamese tree frog.

Banana spider or black widow. The DaddyLongLeg is the most venomest, but the jaws are to small to kill us... They do say that the Daddy-Long Legg is the most venomous and yes it's mouth is to small to bit but I have also herd it could be the angle of the body on those long clumsey leggs that just get in the way and it simply cant get low enough to bit, so if you mess with them be careful that you keep them away from any wrinkled skin or loose skin because this could help them to bit you more efficiently... by Tawni
