about 2.8 million animals a year
Have you ever wondered how many animals suffer in labs? It's a good question. Because there are so many animals in laboratories and records are not kept for all animals, estimates of the number of animals tortured and killed annually in U.S. laboratories vary widely but are in the millions.
The Animal Welfare Act requires laboratories to report the number of animals used in experiments, but it does not cover mice, rats, and birds (used in some 80 to 95 percent of all experiments). Because these animals are not covered by the act, they remain uncounted, and we can only guess at how many actually suffer and die each year.
Many household products and cosmetics companies still pump their products into animals' stomachs, rub them onto their skin, squirt them into their eyes, or force animals to inhale them as aerosol sprays. Charities such as the March of Dimes use donations from private citizens to fund experiments on animals, and the FDA requires all drugs to be tested on animals. However, animals differ from humans significantly, making animal drug tests unreliable and dangerous. New research methods, such as computer models, cell cultures, and human studies are more accurate, less expensive, and much more humane.
Companies that do not test on animals proudly state it on their labels. Send back items that you have from companies that test on animals, and write a letter to the companies explaining why you won't buy their products anymore. And be sure to share this info with your friends-
Animal testing is a cruel business.

I agree the same, with you on how cruel it is to test on such, poor and helpless animals that have never done anything wrong to anyone. And if you really have to test something to see if it's harmful, then it's possible that it's going to be harmful to someone.
It is difficult to provide an exact number as testing practices vary by country and institution. However, it is estimated that millions of animals are used in research and testing worldwide each year. Efforts are being made to reduce and refine animal testing practices wherever possible.
As of 2012, the Ferrero company has banned animal testing on its products. With more emphasis being placed on protecting those animals than cannot protect themselves, many companies are finding other ways of testing their products.
Animal testing for scientific medical research is a controversial issue. While it has contributed to many significant medical advancements, there are ethical concerns regarding the treatment of animals. It is important to continue exploring alternative methods and technologies that may reduce the need for animal testing.
Yes, animals can be harmed during testing of makeup products. Common test methods include eye and skin irritation tests which involve applying the product to the animal's skin or eyes, potentially causing pain and suffering. Many countries are moving towards banning animal testing for cosmetics in favor of alternative methods.
100 1000100 animals are saved every year
approximately 280 000
i love rabbits they are so cool in every way
Animal Abuse; 500 animals die every day and 300 000 animals die a year from animal abuse. It is so sad... STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY!
About 22 animals die every second in testing labs around the world each second. So 22 x 32,536,000(seconds in a calendar year) = 693,792,000 animals die every year.
In Washington state from 2007 to 2008, roughly 1850 animals died due to animal testing :(
There is about 17,000
Many animals are dieing and that is were animal testing the animals comes in for good purpose. The purpose of improving human life instead of sacrificing a human you give up an animal. There are so many animals in the world and animals are still producing more. Think about it "It's you or the animal."
Many are, but it depends on what type of animal it may be.
about 100 animals have been abused in the entire united states.=actually there are more because there are 12 animals used for only animal testing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if there are 12 for testing there must be more due to testing is practically suffering of innocent animals FYI,,, suffering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=
There are many side-effects to testing in animals such as permanent brain damage, cancer, and even death.
I have no clue.
Approximately 12 .1 million animals are used a year for testing.
