I don't think you should get a different animal, just get another one, I'm 12 and I <3 My hamster!!!
I think you should get another hamster, I am 13 and the next hamster I get (BETTER BE SOON!) will be my 11th hamster. They make wonderful pets, but then again trying a new pet isn't always the worse. Hope I helped :)

I'm not saying this is what you should do, because your hamster might not heal by itself; she might get worse. If she loses more hair, and still doesn't seem to be getting any better, I'd suggest bringing it to a vet. I hope your hamster gets better soon!
