There are many things to consider when thinking of buying a kitten. Depending on the breed of cat and where you buy it, it could be as little as a fixed donation from the shelter, up to many hundreds of pounds/dollars from a breeder. Also be sure the kitten is healthy and no younger than ten weeks of age if coming from a breeder.
Food, litter, litter tray, bowls, toys and scratching posts are all essential purchases - with food and litter being things that have to be bought frequently as opposed to toys and bowls. But the most expensive part of having cats is the vet bills. For shots, neutering and micro-chipping costs, check-ups and especially in the event the kitten or cat may become injured or sick.
Depends on how cute it is.
10 dollars okay looking
15 dollars cute

If you buy a kitten then it's not free is it. The additional stuff would cost whatever price each item was added together.

If your going to buy a new kitten it usually costs more then $100. I f your going to buy an older cat it will probably cost less the $100. If you need shots for the cat it can cost around $200.

Well, it depends mostly on the kitten you buy! I have never bought a kitten, I have gotten them all for free, or I have found them! The cost of a new kitten can vary, depending on where you get it from. The cheapest place is an animal rescue center. They charge a minimum fee and it usually covers shots and spaying or neutering. In my area it would be about $50.00. Then you need to get kitten food and some kind of litter. You can get free cardboard boxes and use shredded newspaper for litter also. This is economical and can be thrown out as needed. Helen
They cost 100,000 per year.
Not as much as it cost to adopt a dog.It will depend on what type of kitten. There are some pretty expensive cats out there. An average kitten will cost about 15-30 dollars.
The current (2008) going rate is $850 - 1000.

You can't really get a kitten if they say no but here is something you can do so they will rethink getting a kitten. Look on the computer for a kitten that is in your area and is cheap (I like to use petfinder.com). Find out how much it would cost if you had to buy all the supplies and everything including the kittens cost. Once you've got all that figured out. Sit them down and say that you would be fully responsible for it and show them how much it would cost. To persuade them even more you can save up your own money for the kitten by finding jobs around your neighbor hood like babysitting and later if you get a babysitting job keep it and after you buy it you can help pay for the kitty litter and food later. (like you buy the litter and they buy the food visa versa) But remember if that doesn't work then just accept that you cant get a kitten. You may be able to get one later, when your older. But DO NOT keep on if they say no after you do all of this just wait 'till your older to ask them. Trust me, it never works.
On average, braces should cost somewhere between $5000-$8000 (before insurance if you have it). Mine cost $6000. But there may be additional costs. For example, after you get braces off you should get a retainer. If you break it it is an additional $400 for a new one. Most orthodonisists will have an appointment with you if you want and run you over this stuff and the costs. Cost is somewhat unique to each person.
