As long as it is not a processed meat, such as Hot Dogs, bologna, etc.

ADD:

To expand: No, its not bad at all if a kitten's first solid bit of food is meat! In fact, this is probably the best start the kitten can get! Provided it was unprocessed meat, it should be just fine. Cats are carnivores and are designed to eat meat and get all their nutrients from it.

It will not harm the kitten at all if you give it bits of plain chicken or other poultry meat as a treat from its usual food.

How do you get a kitten to eat kitten food?

Answer:First you start out by just giving them luke warm Kitten Replacer Milk (KMR). When the kittens are around six weeks old you can start adding little bit of wet cat food. As they get older and you start to wean them onto more solid food. Don't give them hard food straight away; use this:Take some cat food and kitten milk. Put it all in a blender until it isn't clumpy anymore, then warm it for 30 seconds or less and then give it to them. After they have gotten used to it, gradually make it chunkier until they are eating solely kitten food. After that the kittens should start eating there food graciously. I have 5 6-week old kittens and I just started this recipe and it is cheap and affordable. They should love it and you could use leftover meat like cooked chicken or turkey as a treat.Answer:Kittens around six to eight weeks old can start to be introduced to solid food as this is around the time they start to be weaned off the mother's milk. Try mashing up some good quality wet/canned food (look for a brand with a high named meat content and no grain, such as Felidae or Blue Buffalo to avoid tummy upsets) for them. Mixing the food with a little bit of KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) at first helps the kittens get used to solid food. Gradually, over the course of several weeks, decrease the amount of water/milk in the food as the kittens become more confident with eating.

What website shows wet cat food?

Kittens and cats are strict carnivores. They get all their nutritional needs from meat. Kittens in particular, need a lot of Protein and Fat in order to grow and develop in a healthy manner. The best cat foods are the ones with a very high meat content (labeled as Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, etc.) as the first or first three, ingredients. It is advisable to stay away from brands that include Corn, Wheat, Cereals and Soy in their foods - cats and kittens have difficulty in digesting this and can cause upset stomachs (diarrhea can quickly become fatal to kittens as they dehydrate easily), and do not provide any nutritional value to the kitten whatsoever. Wet food with these specifications are much easier to find than in dry food. Kittens need a lot more nutrients compared to adult cats, so the higher the meat content, the better. Don't be surprised if you are feeding your kitten much more than you would an adult cat. Also, kittens have small stomachs, so the best method of feeding is "little and often", as often as four to six times a day for very young kittens. For high-quality Cat food there is: Blue Buffalo, Felidae, Weruva, California Natural, Instinct, Prairie, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack, Wellness, EVO, Bozita (the canned stuff is 90+% meat and can be bought from zooplus.co.uk), HiLife (60% meat), Feline Fayre, to name a few.

What do one month kittens eat?

They can eat regular cat food. They're old enough to chew. Many good cat food brands are suitable for both adults and kittens as there is little difference between the two. Because they are growing, kittens need far more proteins than adult cats, so any good cat food with lots of meat in will provide enough nutrition for it.

Is it bad to give a grown cat kitten food?

It is perfectly fine as long as the older cat doesn't need a specialized food like for hairballs or weight-loss. Cats are actually kittens until they are 3 years old. My cat will be 4 in Spring, but still eats Kitten Chow often because it gives him lots of energy and he loves it. To save money and time, you can give a cat younger food. But when he/she is a lot older, definitly give it grown-cat food.

What does a kittens eat?

Until around four weeks of age, kittens get all their nutrition from their mother's milk. When the kittens reach 4 to 6 weeks of age, they will begin to eat very soft solid foods. The best kitten foods are the ones with a very high meat content (labelled as Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, etc.) as the FIRST ingredient with no grains, wheat, or corn. Foods that are free of grains, corns, and wheat gluten are highly recommended as these are cheap "filler" that bulk up foods - but have no nutritional value for your kitten. Wet food with these specifications are much easier to find than in dry food, and much easier to mix and mash up with extra water or formulated kitten milk which helps with the weaning transition for very young kittens. Kittens and cats are strict carnivores. They get all their nutritional needs from meat. Kittens in particular, need a lot of Protein and Fat in order to grow and develop in a healthy manner. Kittens need twice as much Protein as an adult cat does, so don't be surprised if you are feeding your kitten much more than you would an adult cat. Also, kittens have small stomachs, so the best method of feeding is "little and often", as often as four to six times a day for very young kittens. Older kittens (usually around nine months) can be fed a little more and have their meals three or four times a day. For high-quality Cat food there is: Wellness, Eagle Pack, Blue Buffalo, Orijen, Bozita (the canned stuff is 90+% meat and can be bought from zooplus.co.uk), Applaws (70+% meat and comes in both tinned and dry), HiLife (60% meat), to name a few.

everything that is not in a liquid form. yogurt would be a liquid food because you cannot hold it and it would still maintain form. An apple would be a solid food because it maintains a solid/ impenetrable shape. Apple sauce would NOT be a solid food.
