Treat it like a mouse--trap it, and get rid of it. Then try to find out where it got in, and seal up that crack. They often use old mouse/mole tunnels.
Watch out because their bite is poisonous. They also make this high pitch screaming sound when you're trying to corner them, which can be disconcerting.
I just delt with having 3 of them in my house this weekend....joy.
The northern short-tailed shrew (Blarina brevicauda) typically has a life cycle that includes several key stages: birth, juvenile, and adult. They are born in spring, usually in litters of 2 to 10, and are altricial, meaning they are born blind and hairless. After about 3 weeks, they become weaned and start to explore their environment, reaching sexual maturity in about 2 to 3 months. In the wild, their lifespan is generally around 1 to 2 years, although some may live longer in captivity.
Yes, shrew are related to mice. Shrew may dig a hole in your house or even eat a little bit of your food.
Well, the house shrew is the biggest shrew, it weighs about 100 grams.
We chased it from our bedroom and I stomped on it in the kitchen. Hope there are no more. We are setting mouse traps.
The snake would be the predator and the shrew would be the prey

Yes. Michigan is home to at least four types of shrew: the water shrew, which lives in the north and is one of Michigan's few mammals to live exclusively in wetland habitats; then there is the masked shrew, which is the second smallest member of the shrew family; Michigan also is home to the smallest shrew, the pygmy shrew, which lives only in the UP and the very northern extreme of the lower peninsula. The most common Michigan shrew is the northern short tail shrew, which lives throughout the state.

He enters the Minola house and, of course, his own.

There is no such thing. A baby shrew is called a baby shrew.
