The Cambrian explosion is supposedly a time in Earth's history about 570 million years ago when life evolved extremely quickly from single-celled organisms to complex plants and animals.
There is a major problem with this theory, in that it is a cataclysmic event. Evolutionary theory avoids catastrophic explanations whenever possible (and only accepts them when they could be considered common), but this Cambrian explosion happening over a period of a couple million years is almost instantaneous compared to the 4.6 billion-year Darwinian model of evolution.
Picture, if you will, the history of the Earth in a 24-hour day: the first few hours show no signs of life; but at about the fifth hour, you start to see single-celled organisms floating around; this life stays like that for sixteen hours until the twenty-first hour, when all of a sudden, you see complex and diverse life come into being in a span of less than two minutes.

This theory is only a feeble attempt to explain how there seems to be no fossil evidence of the creatures between single cells and complex vertebrates and plant life; in fact, this explanation is even more miraculous than the Creation account, because where Creation states that an Intelligent Designer made everything from nothing, evolution claims that chance played the leading role in causing everything to grow from nothing to everything.
If you'll notice, the cause and effect of both Creation and Evolution are the same (everything from nothing), but the difference is chance and intelligence. There are two possibilities: either we are a product of random chance and quantum fluctuations billions of years ago, and thus have no purpose; or we are a product of supreme intelligence, and should find our purpose through seeking this intelligence and doing His will (Psalm 27:4).
The Cambrian explosion is the term for the geologically rapid diversification of such a large collection of organisms in the Cambrian fossil record.
The Cambrian Explosion is divided into two time periods: the Neoproterozoic Era occurred from 1,000 to 541 million years ago, and the Paleozoic Era occurred from 541 to 252.17 million year ago.
The Paleozoic Era was a time of dramatic geological, climatic, and evolutionary change.
The Neoproterozoic Era produced most of the Earth's continental crust.
The rapid appearance of most major animal phyla.
The Cambrian explosion occurred 544 million years ago to 505 million years ago and lasted 39 million years.
The Cambrian period, 570 millions years ago approximately.
5-10 million years
land animals
The sudden increase in invertebrate fossil diversity
First of all, the Cambrian Explosion is designated as a huge diversification event taking place between 543 to 506 MYA, when most of the phyla extant (living) today appeared. So the first chordates, shelled organisms and arthropods were seen in the Cambrian period. Therefore, complex bilateria dominated the Cambrian scene.

Referred to as the "Cambrian explosion", most major animal groups first appeared in the fossil record beginning about 530 million years ago.
The Ediacarian fauna are from the Cambrian Explosion. The Cambrian Explosion occurred in the Cambrian period. The Cambrian period was part of the Paleozoic era.
Cambrian.
Any time you see an animal. The Cambrian explosion was when the different kinds of animals developed - all the different animal phylums. So if you see an insect on a mammal you see the Cambrian explosion.
The Cambrian Explosion wasn't a literal explosion. Instead, it was a span of time when organisms evolved into an immense number of new forms, and biodiversity increased greatly, reaching its modern level. The Cambrian Explosion occurred between 530 and 450 million years ago.

because there was an explosion in ecological diversity among animals

Single celled organisms.
I assume you are referring to the Cambrian Explosion... It was a period on Earth many millions of years ago after heavy bombardment from asteroids. A huge "explosion" of species and life came to form on Earth.
