A futah is a long piece of fabric wrapped around the waist as a sort of kilt or skirt. Men wear these during religious ceremonies and family gatherings. Women wear them as part of their everyday dress. They are a type of sarong.

The futah is native dress in Yemen, Southeast Asia, some Pacific Islands, and the southern area of Africa.
