Why would someone register a dog with ukc rather than kennel club is it because they are imported?

A person may register his dog with the UKC over the AKC if he has a breed not currently recognized by the AKC. The UKC recognizes over 350 breeds including the American Pit Bull Terrier. This also applies to some imported lesser known breeds that may be ineligible to be registered with the AKC.

What does Purple Ribbon Dog mean?

"In the early part of the 1930s, UKC registered and trademarked with the United States Department of Commerce the Purple Ribbon Pedigree. This pedigree is only offered by the United Kennel Club, Inc., and is the mark of the United Kennel Club purebred dog. The Purple Ribbon designation is awarded to eligible dogs at birth by the United Kennel Club and is signified in all UKC records by the letters 'PR' appearing before the dog's name. Purple Ribbon-bred dogs have six generations of known ancestors and all 14 ancestors within the last three generations must be registered with UKC (indicated by all 14 ancestors having registration numbers)."

What are the difference between ukc adba bloodlines?

there really isn't too much different other than AKC doesn't recognize the breed as a Pit Bull but instead they call it an American Staffordshire Terrier, UKC and ADBA will register the Am Staff as an American Pit Bul Terrier. I prefer the UKC because they are easier to do business with, they have a message board just for registration questions, which is helpful. And ADBA is nice but they are constantly raising their prices it seems. Just a heads up too, I always pay the rush fee, if you don't you'll be waiting forever it seems for your papers to come back.
